The new Ukrainian government, represented by Mr. Pavlo Sheremeta, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine has announced the launching of a new project within the Ukrainian IT sector. The main goal of the project is to make the new Ukraine known as the European Outsourcing Valley.
According to this project:
– Highly-educated IT developers will come visit Ukraine as a result of Ukraine having better conditions for work and life for its IT-specialists;
– By the year 2020 more than 100K new work places in the IT sector will be created;
– The quality of the Ukrainian IT education will be improved by investing $1 bln in its development and modernization.
“Our main goal is a transformation from an economy of resources to an economy of knowledge” said Ukrainian Minister, Mr. Pavlo Sheremeta.
Ukrainian’s Tax legislation laws concerning IT outsourcing will also be revised in order to increase the competitiveness of Ukrainian IT in international and European markets. As a result, after the successful implementation of all steps, the total income of exporting Ukrainian IT services should add up to $10 bln.
We have to mention, the Ukrainian IT community had proposed earlier to the Ukrainian government a project called “Innovative Ukraine” which suggested reforms in such areas as: tax legislation, e-commerce, IT education, IT in the government sectors, industry support of startups and venture investments.
