This Sunday, March 28, 2010 Ukraine will shift clocks forward by an hour to switch to Daylight Saving Time (DST or Summer Time). The clocks will be moved one hour forward at 1 am (01:00) Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). As nearly 70 other countries around the world, Ukraine changes clocks to make better use of daylight.

In Ukraine and most European countries switching to DST is usually done on the last Sunday in March, while in the USA, e.g., it is done on the second Sunday in March. In the European countries time zones change at the same moment.
Ukraine’s standard time zone is GMT +2 which will be offset to GMT +3 after switching to DST. After that the time difference will remain the same between Kiev and: London (GMT) – 2 hours, New York (currently GMT -4) – 7 hours, San Francisco (currently GMT -7) – 10 hours.
