New Research Highlights Current Trends and Challenges Among the UK Outsourcing Companies

IT Sourcing Europe, a UK-based research company and nearshore IT sourcing advisor, announced the completion of its UK IT Outsourcing (ITO) Survey 2010. The Survey was conducted in the frames of the IT Sourcing Europe’s All-European ITO Research and aimed to explore the current trends, challenges and problem solving strategies among the UK companies that outsource their software/web development functions offshore, nearshore or within the United Kingdom. The Survey was completed by 250 IT decision makers of the UK-based businesses.

Offshore, Nearshore, and What, Rightshore?

Since Softheme always keeps an eye on what is going on in the world of outsourcing, we couldn’t pass by one of the latest popular outsourcing solution trends called “rightshore”. Promoted by such outsourcing giants as Capgemini and Lionbridge, this type of service offers an approach to outsourcing alternative to “good old” offshoring and nearshoring.

In general, rightshore approach still does include offshoring and nearshoring models. However, the core of this solution is providing the ideal combination of outsource locations (on-site, offshore, and nearshore) for each customer’s individual project basing on analysis of project-related factors.
