Adobe Systems has released an add-on package for its Illustrator CS5 design editor that will allow developers to export their designs to the Web and mobile platforms, using the emerging HTML5 set of Web formats.
With these capabilities, designers can build out a visual display once and export it to multiple platforms, such as Web pages, smartphones and tablets, as well as for print media, said Adobe senior product manager David Macy.
The pack can render designs using CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) version 3 as well as the HTML5 Canvas element and the SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) XML image format.
Adobe’s HTML5 pack shows that the company, even as it continues to position its own Flash format as a way to bring rich functionality to the Web, is also acknowledging the potential ubiquity of HTML5. Apple, for instance, declined to support Flash on its own consumer electronics, in favor of HTML5 (although it recently recanted somewhat by allowing the use of cross-platform compilers to rebuild Flash files into device-native code).

In this post we would like to talk about widgets as the latest and one of the most popular phenomena in desktop and web application development. We are going to clear up what a widget is and what it is needed for.
From day to day, widgets become more and more widespread in the modern world of the Internet. First rich media and interactive entertainment widgets appeared yet in 2001. Now widgets are commonplace and are actively used on personal blogs, wikis, social network and auction sites, etc. One can meet them on web resources such as Facebook, iGoogle, LiveJournal, MySpace, Netvibes, WordPress, and many others.
What is a Widget?
First of all, let’s make clear what a widget is. A widget is a chunk of code that can be embedded in a web page or installed on a computer desktop. Widgets are usually understood to be interactive single-purpose applications for displaying and/or updating local data or data on the Web. They are packaged in a way to allow downloading and embedding into a web page or installation on a user’s machine. These interactive virtual tools are meant for providing services of single purpose such as photo viewing, displaying latest news, current weather, time, a calendar, a map program, a dictionary or a language translator, a calculator, desktop notes, among other things. Besides providing useful information, widgets represent some commercial interest as a powerful marketing channel, mainly due to their interactivity and viral distribution through social networks. Thus, widgets are often used as advertisements, links to websites, etc. Widgets are divided into three categories such as web, desktop, and mobile widgets. Let’s review all these categories separately.

Dear readers,
In this first post we would like to share with you a list of helpful recommendations that we have recently prepared on what you need to do, what you don’t have to do, and what you can do externally regarding optimizing your website for search engines.
Tips on what should be done:
- Number of words per page should be 500 – 3000 (40 lines with 10 – 15 words in a row). The more text on page, the better; because there is a possibility of a random match of a phrase in a search engine’s search line.
- Use keywords no less than 3 – 4 times per page. Upper limit depends on text amount. In case of a keyword, words that make up a phrase should be used several times on page in that order in which they are represented in the keyword. Besides, the words contained in the keyword should be met separately on the page a number of times. Moreover, the number of times separate words from the keyword are used on the page shouldn’t coincide with the number of times the keyword is met in the text as well as its other constituent words.
