At the Professional Developers Conference 2010 (PDC10) last week, a Microsoft executive misspoke, or at least over-generalized, regarding the software giant’s plans for HTML 5 and Silverlight, kicking off an online debate about the viability of the respective technologies and a hasty public statement on Microsoft’s corporate website. But this episode underscores a much deeper problem around compatibility that is going to dog businesses of all sizes for years to come—a situation that will only be exacerbated by the popularity of heterogeneous smartphone platforms.

Three Steps to a Successful CRM Strategy

Creating an effective customer relationship management (CRM) strategy is different for each company. Yet, there are three key steps which we would suggest to take into account and which can be applied to building any CRM strategy. These three steps to a successful CRM strategy are:

  • setting the direction
  • reviewing the current situation
  • creating a plan

Building a CRM Strategy

A CRM strategy which is developed in isolation is ineffective. It should function in linkage with the overall corporate strategy, and should base on existing sales or marketing strategies. Following the below three steps will ensure that your CRM strategy will succeed.
