As the 3rd quarter of 2009 comes to an end, it is a good time to sum up the quarterly results of the outsourcing market of such a difficult year for all segments of business.
The global economy is gradually recovering from a downturn and the first good signs of it have appeared. The banks have started seeing profits again and international companies stopped reporting losses. However, on the other side more and more SME’s have been marked by unstable performance and reduced customer base.
Nevertheless, it is good to acknowledge that the majority of globally dispersed outsourcing service providers managed to cope with complex economic conditions and to stay afloat while some of them even expanded their client base. This became possible because lots of enterprises, who for any reason refused to consider outsourcing as a good solution before, in new economic conditions moved to it aggressively as an efficient means of cost reduction.
However, balanced by customers lost and customers added, the overall turnover of the outsourcing market in Q3 remained on the same level. While companies reported significant turnover increases, they faced additional challenges this year which they had to overcome, and this resulted in growing operational costs.
What is also interesting is that in Q3 many companies displayed increased demand for .NET and Java development specialists with interest to Delphi and COBOL being a bit lower.
Generally, the true signs of economy getting better are becoming evident which will definitely give outsourcing industry the new ways of development.
Speaking about Softheme, during past 3 quarters of 2009 our company have not only managed to stay afloat but also added new clients onboard, extended and renewed contracts with existing customers, and increased the overall turnover.
