The first one - Mobile Developer Day. Representatives of Samsung and Microsoft told about about perspectives and specific features of the process of mobile development under their platforms. There were also interesting presentations about usability of mobile software, augmented reality and opportunities for monetization of mobile apps. All speakers agreed in one thing - that mobile development market is constantly gorwing, so developers can be sure that within the next few years they will have plenty of work to do. What are the principle differences between them? J2EE requires expensive high-power servers and it’s hard to implement it in most shared or dedicated hosting environments. ASP.NET is usually chosen by Microsoft-savvy coders. The development tools are similar to every other MS application and the learning curve is relatively short. But the deployment of such systems is more expensive, than with the LAMP, because requires licensed Microsoft software. LAMP has become so popular both for its functionality and the fact that it’s all open source (no licensing fees!). The installation of both ASP.NET and LAMP is not complicated, and we can’t say that in this aspect one of them is better than the other. So what’s better for your web solution? (more…)
