Google updates sitelinksWednesday, August 17th, 2011In a recent blog post Google unveiled their ‘expanded and improved’ sitelinks. For those who don’t know what sitelinks are, that’s what they looked loke before:
Google’s blog post says: ‘Sitelinks help you quickly navigate to the most relevant part of the site, which is particularly handy for large and complex websites. Sitelinks can also give you a good overview of a website’s content, and let webmasters expose areas of the site that visitors may not know about’. Understanding the value of sitelinks, Google’s specialists has always paid attention to improving them. At first sitelinks had been rearrenged into columns, then their number was doubled and sitelinks started showing for more results. Now we’re dealing with further improvements. Web developer’s community is actively discussing the new approach of Mozilla, where it delivers a new version of Firefox every 6 weeks. The main issue is compatibility of the popular add-ons like FireBug, FireShot, PixelPerfect, SeoQuake and others with the newer versions, that may lead to certain troubles in website design and development. At present moment all these important plug-ins work rpoperly only with Fireforx 3.6. That’s why the news that version 3.6 of the world’s most popular browser won’t be supported after the next Firefox release does not add optimism.
