Mobile apps are more popular than web?

Surveys show that customers tend to spend more time using mobile apps that accessing Internet via traditional PCs and laptops.

According to Mary Meeker, KPCB, in 2011 smartphone and tablet shipments exceed those of desktop and notebook shipments. An interesting report by Flurry shows that for the time ever, daily time spent in mobile apps is 9% and currently makes 81 minutes versus the average of 74 minutes of using Internet on desktops and laptops. What’s even more interesting that it took only three years to achieve such great level of usage. The main drivers of the process were iOS and Android-based devices. That’s what we have:

MS SWIT 2010: First Day

On December 2 in Kiev was started the Microsoft SWIT 2010 Conference. MS SWIT is the largest event for Ukrainian IT professionals where they can communicate and share the experience with the colleagues.

The two-day event is dedicated to the innovative MS products and technologies, such as Windows Azure, Windows Phone 7, SharePoint 2010, System Center, Visual Studio, etc. About 30 lecturers from Microsoft and its partner companies take floor in three specialized sections.

Google Jumps Into Fashion E-Commerce

Aiming to become the first stop for online shoppers of apparel and accessories, Google Inc. launched a fashion e-commerce site Boutiques.com, which uses human curators, visual recognition and machine learning technology to recommend items to shoppers.

The move thrusts the Mountain View, Calif., Internet giant into the rapidly growing online fashion market, an area in which Amazon.com Inc. and eBay Inc. are stepping up their offerings. It’s a lucrative market, with the online apparel and accessories industry hitting $19 billion in the U.S. in 2009, according to comScore Inc., and growing fast.

Apple Finally Gets Beatles on Board

Yesterday many people were interesting in Apple mystery, which looks like this:

And today we have an idea that Steve Jobs is nearing the end of his long and winding pursuit of the Beatles catalog.

Apple Inc. is preparing to disclose that its iTunes Store will soon start carrying music by the Beatles, according to people familiar with the situation, a move that would fill a glaring gap in the collection of the world’s largest music retailer.
