Windows 7 vs XP

Windows 7 vs XP

Numerous expert reviews claimed that Windows 7 is a successfull product. The figures provided by Microsoft show that it’s true. During 18 months after Windows7’s launch over 350 million licenses have been sold around the world.

W3Schools’ stats show that about 34.1% of users currently use Windows 7. Definitely, this figure is great, but nevertheles the newest Microsoft’s OS has not reached the share of it’s much older version. Please welcome the world’s favourite: Windows XP. Friday, September 24th, 2010

In its “Partner SMB Community” blog, Microsoft has announced that, in early October, the Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) anti-virus suite will become available to small businesses with up to 10 Windows PCs free-of-charge. As MSE has so far been intended for non-commercial use only, the main choice for Microsoft corporate customers has been Forefront Security.

Microsoft will adapt its End User Licensing Agreement (EULA) so that corporate users can legally install the tool. Microsoft does not mention how many users have previously installed MSE in breach of the stated terms of use; as MSE requires no registration or activation, there is little to stop users from installing the software.
