Apple iPad Newspaper, The Daily, To Launch Feb. 2

Apple’s iPad will host a tablet-only newspaper created by News Corp starting Feb. 2, according to an invitation circulating among media.

That digital publication, the Daily, will cost 99 cents per week. According to Reuters, the original Jan. 19 unveiling date was scrubbed “because of technical glitches.” News Corp CEO Rupert Murdoch and Apple Vice President of Internet Services Eddy Cue will headline the new launch event, scheduled to take place in New York City.

Microsoft Reengineering Dynamics

In an attempt to further ease deployments for third-party developers, Microsoft is reengineering its Microsoft Dynamics ERP (enterprise resource planning) software.

The new version, now code-named Microsoft Dynamics AX 6, should reduce the need for customized code, and will be more tightly integrated with a range of other Microsoft software, such as SQL Server and Microsoft Office, according to the company.

MS SWIT 2010: First Day

On December 2 in Kiev was started the Microsoft SWIT 2010 Conference. MS SWIT is the largest event for Ukrainian IT professionals where they can communicate and share the experience with the colleagues.

The two-day event is dedicated to the innovative MS products and technologies, such as Windows Azure, Windows Phone 7, SharePoint 2010, System Center, Visual Studio, etc. About 30 lecturers from Microsoft and its partner companies take floor in three specialized sections.

Softheme takes part in MS SWIT 2010. Our company is very interested in new information technologies, software development trends and cloud computing. We have participated in a discussion of various topics such as

Use IPv6 in Windows 7 Today

As people debate how serious the coming Internet IPv4 shortage really is going to be and when they should migrate to IPv6, some of them may already be using IPv6 every day, and not know it. Seriously.

You see Windows 7 doesn’t just come with IPv6 already installed, it actually uses it for two very different network applications: DirectAccess and HomeGroup.

Investment Criteria for Startups in CEE Region

In today’s world there are a lot of interesting ideas for projects. But very often developers have not enough money for their implementation. That’s why they need investments for further develop the ideas.

October 29, on a conference at the Investor Day participants talked about how you can attract investment, and how most investors look for a final decision on investment. Edward Shenderovich (Kite Ventures), who was participated in the discussion, noted that the main attention is paid to people, team. Investor looks at their level of professionalism, the ability of this team to realize the project as well look at attitudes in the command itself.

Bohdan Kupych (KM Core) noted that there is a tendency in Ukraine: there are a lot of talented technicians who are capable of implementing any idea, but there are only a few people who are able to bring the idea to market. It should be noted that in the world, there is a myth that the Russian and Ukrainian companies will never become global. But for example, take the company Kaspersky. Just a lot of companies that do not recognize this, since it is considered that it might scare away large customers.
